“The Baroness & Her Lovers”

Cristina and Hector Napolitano, or “Old Napo”, jammed together a few times before they became neighbors in the Galapagos Islands in 1998. Morrison chose jazz standards and blues tunes as part of their repertoire and set off as a guitar and vocal duo. They then invited jazz musicians from Quito, Angel Cobo (guitar) and Christian Hidrobo (alto sax) to join them. “Old Napo” came up with no other better name than “The Baroness and her Lovers” for the band, a concept taken from a liberal German woman who lived with her three lovers in the 1930’s on the island of Floreana, to which Cristina portrayed in, “The Devil in Paradise”.

The band has been together for many years and has performed in many venues: bars, cafes, theatres and open “plazas”. Morrison is also a songwriter and will soon start recording. You can catch the “Baroness”, as many people call her, doing gigs between her acting commitments.
